I've decided to create an odd journal meme of sorts. The question is, "What is your idea of the PERFECT dystopia?" (If you don't know what that means, plz find yourself a dictionary)

My example:
A world in which we are ruled not by fear or confusion and a political system of controlled nationalism...Instead, I envision a dystopia where we are controlled through our very wants and desires. People that buy into beliefs and idealogies the same way they would buy beer at the drive-in liquor shop, shopping around and not really looking at the labels, just picking out which one had the prettiest label. After all, what do the contents matter when the bottle looks fancy? In this society, politicians are not openly totalitarian, but instead keep a good social upfront, carefully twisting words around until their original meaning is lost onto low IQ masses who don't just believe that their cause is just, but KNOW that it is. These people in their pressed suits pretend to pick a side when they really try to remain in the middle to keep from falling out of their place on the stands; keeping all of their true actions behind the press and out of public eye.

Where uncertainty passes for understanding and knowledge; slacking becomes accomplishment worthy of praising and reward; where being intolerant of intolerance is considered a hypocrisy. Here, the common man and woman can go through their day without ever learning about all the world's injustices, not because they aren't being reported, but because they simply lack the empathy to do so. Science is pushed aside and blamed for every wrongdoing known to man while religion's faults are cleanly wiped aside and forgotten as if they never were. Music, art, and literature are reduced to simple business and marketing to the lowest common denominator.

True creativity is censored in favor of being ' politically' correct while rappers and other so called 'artist's are allowed to trounce around in nothing, singing about beating up their mothers, whoring themselves in front of millions. A life of hard work will get you no where in this world, despite the promise of a better life in a country where a poor man could supposedly become rich if he tried. This society is obsessed with the past and wishes to remain in that days of lore when life was 'different' and had 'better' values. There is no desire to move on nor improve. The status quo must be kept.

My dear friends...the world I have just described is our own. Now please create your own perfect dystopia and send the link to me to post in this journal.
